As part of
its regular programmes focusing on professional theatre , Centre for
Asian Theatre (CAT) carries out its responsibilities regarding
research and documentation works. In this regard, CAT invites
experts, scholars and researchers from home and abroad on different
subjects related to theatre studies. CAT provides all the supports
to the people involved in these programmes accordingly.
Additionally,
CAT conducts research works on different social and development
issues particularly human rights, good governance, gender-balance,
poverty eradication, child & woman trafficking and awareness
raising programmes through professional theatre.
Proceedings of the Natyotsav—A Classical Sanskrit Theatre Symposium
In the year 2002, CAT has published the proceedings of the “Natyotsav”—A Classical Sanskrit Theatre Symposium, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period 2-7 December 1999. It is hoped that the proceedings would prove to the theatre practitioners and theatre students of Bangladesh as a useful book with all its references to the various aspects of Sanskrit theatre.
Proceedings of the Encounter between East and West
In the year 2000, CAT published the proceedings of the seminar on “Encounter between East and West” held in Dhaka on 19 December 1999.
Proceedings of the International Ibsen Seminar on Gender Issues in Ibsen’s Plays
CAT published the proceedings of the International Ibsen Seminar on “Gender Issues in Ibsen’s Plays” organised by CAT in Dhaka during the period 15-24 February 1997.
